This metric counts the total lines of code contributed.

Why

LoC has historically been viewed as a starter metric to gauge amount of work done, although requiring further examination of work since this does NOT include churned/refactored/reworked code.

LoC in addition to Code churn can serve as an indicator to assess work done and the efficiency.
